European VAT changes from July 1st 2021

Since July 1st, 2021, new European Union tax regulations regarding value-added tax (VAT) have been implemented.  This doesn't affect you if you are located outside of the EU.

Until June 30th 2021, our European clients were charged the German VAT rate of 19%, regardless of location.

To comply with these new regulations, our website will now charge the VAT of the country we are shipping to. (Click on the globe at the website to see your country's VAT applied.)

VAT rates vary from country to country, so please click this link to check what rate applies to your country.

If you are ordering from Germany, nothing changes. The German VAT rates of 19% and 7% for books and magazines are charged to your order.

If you are ordering from outside of the European Union, then nothing changes either. You didn't pay VAT before and still won't have to pay it now.

Shipping conditions

Deliveries are only made within the EU and some overseas countries at the moment. If your country is unavailable, please don't hesitate to contact us (info(at)garnstories.de).

Shipping costs (within Germany and the EU inclusive of legally applicable VAT)

Germany:

Orders within Germany are shipped with DHL for € 5.50 (incl. tracking)
We offer free shipping within Germany for all orders of 85 Euro or more value of goods (Clubs not included).

Clubs:
Shipping (three instalments): 12 Euro

EU

Shipments in the EU are shipped with DHL Warenpost, tracking incl.:
Up to 1000g = 8.90 €

Shipments in the EU with DHL Paket:
Up to 1000g 12.90€
- 1001 - 5000g = 14.50€

Clubs (EU):
Shipping (in three instalments): 18€  


WORLD
Orders to non-EU countries are shipped with DHL. We are shipping to the following countries at the moment (if you cannot find your country in the list, please contact us via e-mail):

Shipments with DHL Warenpost, tracking incl.:
Up to 500g = 10.90€
- 501g - 1000g = 14.90€


Shipments with DHL Paket, tracking incl. to Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Montenegro, Norway, Turkye:
- up to 5kg = 18€

Shipments with DHL Paket, tracking incl.to Egypt, Israel, Marocco, Tunisia
- up to 1kg = 27.50€
- 1001g - 2000g = 30€
- 2001g - 5000g = 35€

- 1001g - 2000g = 35€

(Placing several orders might be a good idea to save shipping costs. They will then ship as 'Warenpost'.)

Clubs (worldwide)
Shipping (in three instalments): € 25

Please note: If you order from an EU country outside the Euro area, there may be a fee for the bank transfer charged by your bank. Please make sure in advance that you have all the necessary information. Bank fees of any kind shall be borne by the buyer.
Alternatively, you have the option to pay via PayPal. The arising transaction fees are at our expense.

Delivery time
Unless no other delivery times are stated in the item descriptions, the delivery within Germany takes 3 - 7 days, to countries of the EU 3 - 8 days and 5 - 21 days to non-EU countries after order confirmation (in case an advance payment has been agreed upon, after the payment authorisation). Transit times could currently be significantly longer due to the Corona pandemic.

Please note that there is no shipping, and no deliveries are not made on Sundays and other holidays.

If you've purchased products with different delivery times, we will ship the goods in one parcel unless another agreement is made. The delivery time is determined in this case according to the article with the longest delivery time you have purchased.

Terms of payment
You have the following options of payment:
- Advance payment via standard bank transfer (EU countries only)
- Advance payment via PayPal (worldwide)
If you are paying via bank transfer, we kindly ask you to pay within seven working days.
